Types of lid
- Lid < 20 cm — for small diameters, individual pans and small batches.
- Lid 20 to 25 cm — the most common intermediate size, compatible with most pans and sauté pans.
- Lid > 25 cm — for large volumes, pots and stockpots in catering kitchens.
Reference brands
- Lacor — stainless steel and glass lids for intensive use.
- Paderno — manufacturing aimed at professional catering.
- Ibili — glass models with bakelite knob.
Choosing the right lid
How do I find the right diameter?
The lid must match the inner diameter of the vessel, measured rim to rim. A lid that is too small will not close properly, while one that is too large rests on the edges without sealing. Check the marking on your pan or measure the opening before choosing between our sizes below 20 cm, 20 to 25 cm or over 25 cm.
Stainless steel or glass?
A stainless steel lid withstands knocks, oven use where compatible, and intensive washing, making it suited to hospitality environments. A glass lid lets you monitor cooking without lifting it, useful for delicate preparations. Many models combine both: a stainless steel rim with a tempered glass panel.
Is the lid compatible with my equipment?
Beyond diameter, make sure the handle or knob withstands the temperature of your cooking method. A bakelite knob stays cool to the touch but limits oven use; a stainless steel handle allows oven use but heats up. Our lids pair with our pans, pots and sauté pans.
