Choosing the right jam jar
Glass or porcelain?
Glass lets you see the contents and stands up well to the dishwasher, which makes upkeep easier in busy service. Porcelain offers a more classic presentation and keeps the contents fresh. For buffet use, mechanically sealed jars, such as those in the Dispenser section, extend the shelf life of homemade jams.
With or without lid and spoon?
A lid protects the jam from the air and limits drying out between services. A notch for the spoon makes table service easier and keeps the tablecloth clean. Consider the capacity according to the number of guests to be served.
