Wine carafe

If you want to buy a wine carafe, you should know that all carafes shapes have specific properties which allow them to be used as a wine aerator or a wine decanter and it is necessary to choose the type of wine carafe! Essential accessory for any oenologist and wine lover and connoisseur. Destined for your red wines or your white wines, you will certainly find the carafe/decanter of your choice on AZ Boutique your glassware and restaurant supply store!

You can choose between a glass carafe, or a crystal carafe, you will certainly have trouble choosing ... because each of them have very special features!

Release the aromas and bouquet of your greatest wines with your wine carafe!

Infact there are two main reasons to use a wine carafe:

The first is to aerate a wine to promote the oxygenation of your beverage for a softer, flavorful taste! Oxygenate the wine to prevent a brutal tannic effect of young red wines and the highly noticeable alcohol that masks odors, then select a decanter with a very wide base and the widest neck possible, which will promote a maximum contact surface between the wine and the air. If you are receiving guests, think about aerating the wine about 2 hours before their arrival. Place your carafe in an ice bucket or a champagne bucket filled with ice if it is a white wine. You will find that the taste of your table wine will be different! It will be much more harmonious and without unpleasant odors!

The second is to decant an old red wine so that the impurities and sediment accumulated in the original wine bottle can be deposited in the bottom of your wine decanting carafe. But beware old vintages can often lose all their charm if they are over-oxygenated. The process is therefore to bring as little oxygen as possible to facilitate the separation between the deposits and the beverage. In short, for an old wine, it is necessary to decant while aerating the least possible. The carafe should have a rather narrow neck. When you pour the wine into the carafe, it must be done with great care unlike aeration that does not require special attention. It will be necessary to proceed to this operation at the last minute simply because once your vintage is poured into your wine glasses, it risks being "attacked" by the ambient air and will change very quickly in the nose as in mouth and risk. With proper decanting will enhance your wine tasting experience to the maximum.

Note that the decantating process is more profitable for old red wines because it brings almost nothing to white wines and even less to rosé wines. Moreover, among the wines not to be decanted; Sparkling wines that open just before consumption to keep their bubbles.

The wine decanter: An essential accessory for lovers of tableware!

The carafes are wine accessories which exude a retro charm and yet they so trendy! For an impeccable wine service and to add a cachet to your decoration, the wine decanter carafe is by far the best container. Its lines will give a classic and especially original style to your tables!

You now know how to enhance your wine taste. Enjoying a great vintage in the right glass wine glasshas never been so pleasant! Enjoy your Côte du Rhône or your Pinot Noir will take a new dimension for you! If you know a great sommelier chef who has some secrets of oenology, it will not detract you: the great wines have a better taste when they have properly decanted!

Remember that each type of carafe has its own function. For younger wines, make the choice to buy a carafe with a wide base and a rather wide neck. For the consumption of old wines, it is better to choose a carafe to be decanted very narrow, to limit the oxygenation of the wine before being served. And for a stylish table decor why not opt for an elegant carafe with refined finishes.
