Types of food-storage containers
- Mason jar: airtight glass for preserves, jams and dry-food storage.
- Round box: round lidded containers, handy in the fridge.
- Rectangular container: formats optimised for storage and transport.
- Square container: stackable to save space.
- Baby box: portions suited to infant food.
- Can-opener: opening metal tins and cans.
- Lids and jar seals: spare parts to maintain a tight seal.
Reference brands
- Le Parfait: jars with rubber seals for preserving and sterilising, including the best-selling Familia Wiss collection and the Super range.
- Bormioli Rocco: Italian glassware, Fido jars and Frigoverre boxes.

How to choose a food-storage container
Glass or plastic?
Glass is neutral, retains no odours and is oven- and dishwasher-safe; it suits sterilising and long-term storage. Plastic is lighter and shatter-resistant, ideal for carrying food and individual portions.
Which sealing system?
A rubber seal with a metal clamp provides a durable airtight closure for preserves. Clip or screw lids suit fridge and everyday use. Consider spare lids and seals to extend the life of your jars.
Which format for which use?
Large jars are for preserves and dry-food storage; small airtight boxes suit leftovers and portions. In catering, favour stackable, dishwasher-safe containers.
Home or professional use?
Our section covers both: domestic equipment for homemade cooking as well as sturdy containers for cafés, hotels and restaurants bound by hygiene rules.
