Mepra

Brand distributed by AZ boutique ★★★★★ ★★★★★ 4,7/5

Welcome to our Mepra boutique, an Italian tableware and kitchen utensil manufacturer based in the Lumezzane Valley, in Lombardy, the historic heartland of Italian cutlery. Heir to the Prandelli family workshop founded in 1901, the Mepra brand — short for "Metallurgica Prandelli" — was created by sons Pietro, Felice and Giacomo Prandelli, and turned to stainless steel cutlery as early as 1950. Today Mepra exports its flatware, cookware and tableware worldwide, and collaborates with Pininfarina on its STILE design collections.

Mepra's expertise

Mepra focuses on 18/10 stainless steel, which it works into cutlery, cookware, bar accessories and serving pieces. The brand is one of the few in Italy to master silver plating on stainless steel cutlery and tableware, a legacy of its Lumezzane workshop.

  • 18/10 stainless steel cutlery: polished, brushed, silver-plated and PVD-coloured finishes
  • 18/10 stainless steel cookware: triple-thick base saucepans and sauté pans, induction-compatible
  • Bar and serving accessories: tongs, trays, champagne buckets, trivets
  • Polycarbonate cutlery: transparent and coloured versions for catering and events
  • STILE by Pininfarina collection: award-winning Italian design, signature PVD finishes

Choosing your Mepra cutlery

What sets Mepra cutlery apart on the market?

Mepra draws on the expertise of the Lumezzane Valley, often referred to as the "Italian Sheffield" of cutlery. The brand is one of the few to offer such variety of finishes on 18/10 stainless steel — mirror, brushed, silver-plated, gold-plated, PVD colours, enamelled handles — making it a favourite among hoteliers and restaurateurs looking to differentiate their place settings.

What is a PVD finish at Mepra?

PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) is a vacuum process that deposits a thin, hard metal layer (titanium, zirconium, oxides) on stainless steel, producing durable tones: gold, copper, rose, black, bronze. PVD offers better durability than a simple decorative coating, provided use and care instructions are followed. The Avangarde and STILE collections make it a signature.

Why does Mepra make polycarbonate cutlery?

The Mepra polycarbonate range targets the catering, events and outdoor professional catering market (terraces, pools, beaches, cruises). Food-grade polycarbonate matches the weight and grip of stainless steel cutlery while being unbreakable and colourable — a key asset for event receptions and brunches. Compatible with low-temperature professional dishwashers.

Avangarde, Arte or Polycarbonate Mepra: which fits which use?

Avangarde, in its mirror or brushed Ice variations, targets a clean contemporary table and works well for refined daily use. Arte, with its worked handle, leans toward more expressive tables and formal services where the piece becomes part of the decoration. The Polycarbonate range is aimed at caterers, events and outdoor service (terrace, pool, cruise), with a grip close to stainless steel cutlery and without the risk of breakage.
