Choosing your Glasslock containers

Why choose Glasslock tempered glass over a plastic container?

Glasslock glass limits food contact with plastic, especially when reheating or storing hot food. It does not stain easily, does not absorb odours like some plastics, and remains recyclable. Some tempered-glass models also offer better impact resistance, provided the use instructions are followed and thermal shock is avoided.

What's the difference between the Microwave and Oven ranges?

The Microwave range is designed for quick reheating with a clipped lid: the pressure-release valve prevents excess pressure. The Oven range is designed for high-temperature cooking, but must be used without the lid in the oven (the silicone lid does not tolerate cooking temperatures). For cooking + storage, choose the Oven range; for reheating + transport, choose the Microwave or Handy range.

Which Glasslock size and shape for which kitchen use?

Rectangular shapes are the most versatile: they stack in the fridge and suit leftovers, batch cooking and ready meals to take away. Square formats work well for individual portions (rice, vegetables, soups in a lunchbox). Round models are handy for sauces, marinades and liquid leftovers. For regular use, a 3-to-4-size assortment (300 ml, 500 ml, 1 L, 1.5 L) covers most storage and transport needs.

Can Glasslock containers go from freezer to oven?

Some Glasslock containers withstand wide thermal variations, but it is recommended to let the container return to room temperature for a few minutes before putting it in the oven, to avoid extreme thermal shock. Always check the exact range and keep the pressure valve open in the microwave when the product sheet requires it.
