Founded in Bodegraven, at the heart of the Gouda region, under the name Bos Kaasgereedschappen, the company forged its identity for over a century in professional cheese cutlery and tools before transforming into the consumer brand Boska Holland in 2002, under the leadership of Martijn Bos. Boska sizes its knives according to paste type. For hard pastes (Parmesan, aged Gouda, mature Comté), a thick, short blade allows the cheese to be cut into shards. For soft pastes (Brie, Camembert), a taut wire or a perforated blade prevents the cheese from sticking. For blue pastes (Roquefort, Stilton), a flat thin blade preserves the cheese structure.
