Bleu d'Argile passionately perpetuates the soul and gestures of the Vallauris master potters — an area with thousands of years of ceramic tradition, made internationally famous by Picasso in the 20th century. Every piece is entirely made by hand, thrown, decorated and signed by the artist: no two pieces are strictly identical. The workshop works in the traditional Vallauris methods, putting matter, hand and under-glaze painted decoration centre-stage. The result: warm, irregular, deeply Provençal tableware.

This entails slight variations between each example — thickness, dimensions, glaze nuance — that are the hallmark of true artisan ceramics. Unlike perfectly standardised industrial porcelain, no two Bleu d'Argile plates are ever strictly identical.

What is the signature of Bleu d'Argile glazes?

The workshop works two highly recognisable palettes: the "Rouge" collection, with deep matte or glossy red glazes, and the "Miel et brun" collection, which explores the warm earth tones typical of Vallauris ceramics.
